Abstract

The author of this article reviews the progression of the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), a California law aimed at ensuring compliance with the state's comprehensive Labor Code. The author says that PAGA may have had beneficial objectives driving its creation, but the result has been a severe law that has bolstered and complicated wage-and-hour litigation in the most litigious state in the most litigious country on the planet.
