Description: The Palm m105 handheld is an electronic organizer (with date and address books, a to-do list, spreadsheet, and word-processor capabilities) that can connect to desktop computers, connect to the Internet for e-mail and other limited purposes, and communicate directly and wirelessly with printers and other handhelds. The Palm m105 comes with batteries, a "HotSync cradle," a CD-ROM with required software, and a detailed and useful manual.
Specifications: The Palm m105 is 4.66 inches x 3.12 inches x .7 inches and weighs 6 oz. with batteries installed. The device can easily fit in a shirt pocket. It comes with a"HotSync Cradle" to connect with desktop computers, an advanced LCD display with backlight, an infrared port, and a variety of applications. It has 8 MB of memory and includes the Palm OS Software 3.5 operating system.
Price: The m105 retails for $199, but can be purchased for around $140 from various large electronics stores.
System Requirements: Full use of the Palm m105 requires an IBM-compatible 486 PC or higher running Windows 95/98/2000/NT 4.0 or a Macintosh Power PC running OS 7.5.3 or higher. Either desktop requires a serial port, 30 MB of free hard disk space, and a CD-ROM drive. Windows machines need 16 MB RAM, with 64 MB recommended for Windows 2000. Macintoshes require 6 MB free RAM.
Warranty: The Palm m105 handheld is covered by a 1-year limited warranty; the included software has a 90day warranty. Additional warranties are available at extra expense, including one free screen replacement. The screen is used a great deal and may well be the first part to break down.
