Every entrepreneur has his own story of setbacks, but most aren't Super Bowl-sized.
Steve Papermaster was heading high-flying software company Agillion Inc. when it bought a $2 million TV spot that aired during the Super Bowl in 2001. A high-profile victim of the high tech crash, Agillion shut down in August 2001, with remnants of the business sold later at an auction.
Now, Papermaster is back in the software game.
Papermaster has formed and invested in an Austin-based software startup called CooperaTech Inc. Papermaster is chairman and Janice Ryan, former vice president of sales at Austin software company Vignette Corp., is president.
The startup employs 16 people at 901 S. MoPac Expressway. So far, it has raised $4.25 million from Papermaster and San Franciscobased investment firm Azure Capital Partners LP, Ryan says.
