Boston system picks successor to retiring Mongan
Partners HealthCare System in Boston named Gary Gottlieb to succeed James Mongan as president and chief executive officer.
Mongan, 66, plans to retire at the end of 2009 after seven years in the position. Gotdieb, 53, is president of Partners' 746-bed Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, and joined Partners in 1998 as the system's first chairman of psychiatry and mental health and a professor of psychiatry at Partners-affiliated Harvard Medical School.
