Pepperdine University has named its largest donors to its new School of Public Policy and denies that its main contributor is a conservative publisher highly critical of the Clinton administration. Richard Mellon Scaife, a publisher of newspapers in Pittsburgh and Greensburg, PA, was one of six donors who gave more than $1 million each; his $1.35 million was about 15 percent of $9 million in startup and endowment funds, the school said.
