Worldwide Computer Products News-26 July 2001-PowerQuest and Intel team to offer enhanced operating system deployment (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com The storage management systems provider PowerQuest Corp and the computer chip maker Intel Corp have joined forces to offer a solution that can reduce the high cost of deploying operating systems (OSs). Under the partnership the companies have integrated PowerQuest's PowerDeploy Suite with Intel's LANDesk Management Suite. The combined solution is designed to allow companies to deploy, upgrade, migrate and install operating systems remotely throughout the enterprise. In addition the joint system can be used by IT professionals to reinstall an OS after hard drive failures. The PowerDeploy Suite/LANDesk Management Suite combination is available immediately.
