While it's generally healthy now, Primary Health Inc. has room to get stronger, officials say.
The privately held company based in Boise operates a medical group with employed physicians in 13 clinics, and a health insurance plan. it owns an interest in the independent Idaho Physicians' Network.
"There's lot of good value, and good assets, within Primary Health," Interim CEO Elwood Kleaver, Jr said. "I'm not sure all the assets have been fully realized."
He assumed CEO duties from Stephen Hyde just more than a month ago. The board named Hyde CEO in late August, after Elden Mitchell left the post he had held since 1996 for personal reasons. Hyde is a healthcare entrepreneur and investor based in Colorado.
"When we made that decision, it was clear Steve didn't have the time that he thought he could commit to running the company," Kleaver said.
Kleaver said he's left his plans "openended," and will stay as interim CEO as long as the board wants him in that post. For the past...
