Driven by limited resources and staff, municipal governments are continually searching for cost-effective IT solutions to help them operate more efficiently and save money. Ironically, as municipalities strive to meet budgets, they may overlook the print production and infrastructures within their departments and various office locations.
According to estimates from industry analysts, organizations spend between one and three percent of their revenues on copiers, printers, faxes and scanners. And, far from ushering in the "paperless office" wistfully imagined a decade ago, electronic communication has only added to the mountain of paper being shuffled every day. Print equipment and supplies are among the most costly assets for offices, and poorly managed print environments can cost an organization millions of dollars.
