When DocuTech founded the eMortgage Alliance in 2002, the goal was to enable lenders to produce paperless mortgages today. To gain membership in the eMortgage Alliance, companies are required to support the current MISMO standards and be ready for deployment now. Currently the Alliance comprises DocuTech, Wave Systems, VirPack, SwiftView, Rekon Technologies, The Performance Group, Encomia, Ingeo and - as of September - Framework. Members each specialize in and automate separate steps of the eMortgage process, including the creation of SMART Docs, eSigning, ePackaging, eMessaging, eClosing, eRecording, eVaulting and strategic planning and implementation. It is impossible to talk about the founding of the eMortgage Alliance without mentioning Tim Anderson, executive vice president of eMortgage Solutions at Idaho Falls, Idaho-based DocuTech. Throughout his 25 years in the mortgage industry with companies stretching from Alltel to HomeSide Lending to HomeAdvisor Technologies to Docutech, Tim Anderson has stood out as a spokesperson for better ways of doing business through technology. "Tim has always been years ahead of the companies he's worked for," said Contour founder Scott Cooley. "He's constantly evangelized his theories for improving the industry and has been rewarded numerous times when his visions became reality."
