Double-coated tapes

Two double-coated tapes, 3175M and 5944M, are available in several widths and liner options. 3175M is polyester film with a rubber-based adhesive that bonds to polyurethane and polyethylene foams, felt, rubber, sponge, cork, and gasket materials. 5944M is for foam fabrication applications, insulation, and sound reduction. Its liner side features high-tack rubber-based adhesive with high peel and moderate shear strength. The exposed side of 5944M is coated with a high-tack, low-shear acrylic adhesive.

Pressure sensor film

Pressurex is a tactile-pressure-indicating sensor film that quickly and accurately measures surface pressure distribution and magnitude between mating or contacting surfaces. In gasket and O-ring seal assemblies, it profiles interfacial contact, showing how surfaces engage and deform under stress and revealing sealing flaws and inconsistencies.

The product comes in thin, flexible plastic sheets and detects surface pressure from 2 to 43,200 psi. When loaded, it instantly and permanently changes color in proportion to the applied pressure. Comparing color intensity to a reference chart determines precise magnitude. It is also used to assess surface-contact irregularities in clamps, bolted joints, presses, welding heads, and clutch and brake assemblies. Free samples are available.

Wiring system for ignitions

The CSA-certified EZRail wiring/mounting system goes from the ignition unit to the coils. It eliminates hours of wire and conduit cutting in the field and prevents skinned insulation due to long conduit pulls. EZRail takes advantage of standard cables, wiring rails, and integral/flange or off-mounted coils (shielded or unshielded). It can be used in any hazardous or nonhaz-ardous area. Optional bolt-on coil mounting rails give users a reliable means of mounting ignition coils without compromising the integrity of the wiring rail or the ability of the rail to be serviced if necessary.

The system can be upgraded. If coil types are changed from unshielded to shielded or integral, for example, the same wiring rail can be used without modification. The same is true if the coil mounting rail is added later.

Materials include high-quality aluminum extrusions, sealed junction boxes, and military-style connectors and harnesses. All connector back shells are potted and strain relieved.
