If you need to get a body part delivered in a hurry-say, a kidney for a transplant operation-Donald Pederson is your man.
"We do all the body part work in Rochester. We also do airport work in Syracuse," Pederson says.
President of We're Pretty Darn Quick Delivery, Pederson runs a courier service better known in Rochester by the legend painted on its ubiquitous vans, PDQ Delivery.
One of several such services operating in the area, PDQ in the 10 years Pederson has owned it has grown into perhaps the largest. The company currently fields 47 drivers and grosses some $2 million a year doing 120,000 or more individual pickups and deliveries.
Because of the nature of the work-in-town deliveries on-demand guaranteed within 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on how much a client is willing to pay-each day is a virtual fresh start for PDQ, Pederson says.
