Why, people wonder, would anyone want to serve on a national board? For members of PRSA's national board, there were varying reasons and significant benefits. Tactics recently spoke with former board members to ascertain what it takes to serve PRSA.
Mitch Head, APR, Fellow PRSA, has fond memories of serving on PRSA's board of directors.
"I found my board experience fun, interesting, educational and exciting," says Head, managing director, Golin/Harris Atlanta, who served in 2000 and 2001. "I learned new things about the Society, about PR professionals as a whole, about managing an association and about leadership."
Head's recollections come as PRSA's 2003 Nominating Committee is accepting names of nominees to build a strong, representative national board of directors.
