Houston-area merger and acquisition activity tracked by Los Angeles-based Mergerstat Holdings LLP takes place almost daily.
Mergerstat tracks publicly announced M&A activity involving U.S. business entities with deals of $1 million or more and 10 percent or more sought.
Figures provided reflect only the base equity price of the transactions and not the liabilities and exclude the exchange of business assets, private placements, spin-offs and open market transactions.
In the second quarter (to June 24) the largest transactions for which the deal size is reported are:
* Enron Corp. sold its CrossCountry Energy LLC unit to Houston-based NuCoastal LLC for $1.77 billion. Enron Corp. also sold its Dabhol Power Co. unit to Bechtel Group Inc./General Electric, San Francisco, Calif, for $22 million.
