The First Marine Regiment paid homage to a legendary warrior April 13, commissioning Building 53558 as "Puller's Post," a gathering place for noncommissioned officers, staff NCOs and officers at Camp Horno aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
"Puller's Post is to honor the memory of Lieutenant General [Lewis B. `Chesty'] Puller," said Lieutenant Colonel John M. Carretti, Executive Officer, 1st Marines. "This dedication is the culminating moment throughout the construction process."
Leathernecks of 1st Marines, past and present, attended the commissioning ceremony. The guest speaker was retired Major General Marc Moore, the last aide-de-camp to LtGen Fuller.
