Quality Food Centers Inc., the Bellevuebased grocer owned by industry giant Kroger Co., has plans to redevelop a small Bellevue shopping center currently occupied by independent merchants.
The 85-store grocery chain plans to build a 35,000-squarefoot grocery in BelEast Shopping Center, near Bellevue Community College.
Rumors that the site will be the launch for a new concept, where customers can pick up orders placed online, were denied by a company official. "There is no truth to that that I am aware of," said Chuck Curran, QFC's manager of store development.
