QUALCOMM WILL ADD new directory and administrative services to its Internet-based e-mail servers at the end of this month when the company ships WorldMail Server 2.0, a server-centric expansion of the popular Eudora Pro e-mail package.
The Windows NT 4.0-based offering will be the last e-mail package that tightly bundles client and server products for Qualcomm, signaling a drive toward light, open standards-based clients and an emphasis on servers and directories.
The company is also working to enjoin its wireless technologies with its e-mail products, said sources close to the company.
