TELECOMWORLDWIRE-16 May 2001-Quest Software unveils new version of IBM DB2 database management system (C)1994-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com California-based Quest Software Inc has launched version 1.1 of Quest Central for DB2, its software for the management of IBM DB2 databases. Quest Central for DB2 is designed to allow database administrators to perform complex tasks, such as performance monitoring, database administration and SQL tuning, from a single console. Enhancements in the new version include added support for IBM OS/390 mainframe systems and new functionality to ease the migration of databases across servers. In addition version 1.1 is, according to Quest, the first administration system on the market to support the new features of DB2 Universal Database v7. Availability and pricing were not disclosed.
