Offering what it describes as ASIC-level performance in an FPGA, QuickLogic Corp. has introduced its Eclipse family of FPGAs, which the company says offers internal register-to-register speeds of 600 MHz and up to 583,000 system gates.
The Eclipse FPGAs will improve the performance of QuickLogic's Embedded Standard Product devices, which surround a fixed functional block with programmable logic or memory, according to the Sunnyvale, Calif., company. Using the fast Eclipse architecture, QuickLogic said its ESPs can target telecom and networking applications that require high device performance and density.
