Another radio guy has been tapped to tackle the TV business. As the new president of Emmis Television, Randy Bongarten will head up Emmis' 15 stations, which generated just under $255 million in revenue last year, making Emmis the 18th-largest TV station group, according to BIA Financial Network.
Bongarten's appointment came just in time-- the same day last week, Emmis announced it had closed its purchase of eight network-affiliate and seven satellite stations for $559.5 million from Lee Enterprises. He replaced Greg Nathanson, who left the position in the summer but remains with the company.
