Four months after two tax hens worth more than $250,000 were filed against Wichita's Radisson Broadview Hotel, officials say they are weeks away from having the entire debt paid off.
The tax hens were for failure to pay state sales taxes and state transient guest taxes. Moti Boaziz and Oved Ovadia own the Radisson, along with the Ramada Inn at 7335 E. Kellogg and the Four Points by Sheraton Wichita at 5805 W. Kellogg.
The matter has been settled with the Internal Revenue Service, they say, and while the plan allows a longer period of time to pay off the hens, the goal is to get it done in two to three weeks, Boaziz says. Radisson General Manager Mike Aaron says the payment will place the hotel in a position to put its money problems behind it and move on. There are plans to expand the building, add new services and hold more events in an attempt to increase the hotel's market share.
And paying the hens earlier than planned will help the business avoid further money problems.
