Ramco Specialties Inc. has been doing more of its own manufacturing in recent years, rather than simply processing parts from overseas. The approach has allowed the company to stabilize its supply and to strengthen it against market conditions like fluctuating currencies, said president and CEO Rick Malson.
But as the maker and value-added distributor of nut and fastener products for the automobile and heavy trucking industry has brought in more equipment, the company's existing buildings have grown a bit cramped.
"We are absolutely out of space for that," Malson said.
So, Ramco is planning to construct a 165,000-square-foot building about a mile away from its three current buildings in Hudson, Malson said. Ramco has been in Hudson since 1986.
