In Canada, approximately 8,000 young ladies apply to this prestigous pageant every year, for a total of 250,000 worldwide. This is why the "Miss Hawaiian Tropic" pageant is ranked second in terms of popularity, right after the "Miss Univers" contest, and this, even if its philosophy is closer to that of an immersive experience centered around fashion, beauty and pleasure than to that of a competition in the strictest sense of the term.
