They gather once a month at the UAW Hall in Brook Park -- a few hundred people, mostly from in and around Cleveland but also from other Ohio cities and other states.
But it's no union meeting. It's the regular All Cleveland Reptile Show and Sale, and along with the people, you'll find a wide variety of snakes, lizards, amphibians and insects -- and just about anything you might need for their care and feeding.
If you're looking for 15-foot-long pythons, or venomous cobras and rattlesnakes, you'll be disappointed.
"No venomous reptiles, and nothing indigenous to Ohio," said Shay Hamper, the show's organizer.
Those at the show tend to be far more interested in genetics than in the size or potential danger of an animal, he said. Vendors at the show are a mix of full-time business people, and hobbyists looking...
