What's the best way to access the Internet? Ask a business professional and a residential user you're likely to get two very different answers. That's also the case when you ask providers which services are most in demand.
The 20 companies on Business First's Internet Access Providers fist provide service to thousands of residential and commercial users, some paying just $9 per month and others paying more than $500.
"To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of dial-up's demise has been greatly exaggerated," said Marc Silvestri, president of LocalNet Corp., which provides mostly dial-up service to about 11,000 subscribers in the Western New York region for $9.95. "Dial-up is still the primary way people will connect for now and will for a long time."
