ReSourcePhoenix.com of San Rafael and Alameda has been hit by layoffs, the abrupt departure of a top executive and revenue disappointments, but copresident Corey West said he's "cautiously optimistic" the financial and business services firm will soon raise some badly needed cash.
"Events outside our control have made it increasingly difficult" to obtain financing, said West, referring to the stock market turbulance that has forced many companies to postpone initial or secondary offerings.
But West said demand remains very high for the company's services in outsourced financial and management reporting, accounting management, transaction processing and record keeping. ReSourcePhonenix.com (RPC) bills itself as the first company to use the Internet to integrate enterprise resource planning software with professional expertise in information technology, accounting, finance and transaction processing.
And the company still plans to expand its presence in Alameda, although not as quickly as originally planned, said West, who spends most of his work time in the island city.
