As the workforce crisis persists, details havestartedto emerge that confirm some patterns, including that younger cohorts appear to dominate the job-hopping trend.?
Elements Global Services, a California-based technology firm that helps companies expand worldwide, analyzed Google search terms between February 2020 and July 2021. The goal was “to try and learn more about what restless workers are searching for during the pandemic,” said MattZajechowski, a team lead with Digital Third Coast, a Chicago-based internet marketing services company that is spreading the word about the study.?
“The 'Great Resignation' is currently happening across the country with manyAmericanssearching for new jobs as the pandemic continues,”Zajechowskisaid in an email.
Elements Global Services also surveyed 500 millennials and GenZersto learn more about their attitudes towards careers. Several key findingssurfaced, including that74% of young workers say there's a job they would do for $15 per hourand thatsearches for jobs offering “high pay” have increased dramatically.
