The value of a good contact management program can not be underestimated. If your sales force keeps most of its contact information on scraps of paper and/or in their heads, you really aren't maximising your potential. Goldmine from AVG has a long heritage beginning with a DOS version, through a Win 3.11 and Win95 incarnation to this latest version, Goldmine 4.0. The program makes a big thing about being 'fully 32 bit' which is good, but I do wish it wasn't still being shouted about as some...
