THE N97 MINI WAS THE FIRST phone shipped with Nokia's free Ovi Maps. After a week of using the N97 mini, I know two things - I like the Ovi Maps and hate the N97 mini. The slide out Qwerty keyboard was initially cool to look at and use but soon became a bore. Executing even some of the simplest commands require more clicks than other phones. In addition, some of my contacts were displayed as numbers instead of their names when they called or texted, simply because there was a + in front of their numbers. Judging from blog entries, problems such as these are pretty common among the N series. Seriously, what good is a mobile phone when the caller identification, a basic function, does not work properly?
The E72, on the other hand, is a solid machine and mostly a pleasure to use. It is not be the prettiest of phones - only slightly prettier than a blackberry, though its trimmings make it look and feel way classier. The shinny back casing also doubles as a mirror! Following the...
