Allison Engine Co. and British parent Rolls-Royce PLC are discussing creating a multimillion-dollar worldwide training center near Indianapolis International Airport.
The center would be used not only by Allison and Rolls employees, but also customers and vendors who need to learn how to operate, repair and troubleshoot Rolls-Royce's aircraft engine systems, said Larry Gigerich, president of Indianapolis Economic Development Corp.
The airport location would place the training center near big Rolls-Royce customers such as American Trans Air Inc., Gigerich said.
