LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Uniform Code Council Inc. and RosettaNet, the high-tech industry's e-business standards consortium, have merged in an effort to accelerate the adoption of business-to-business standards including XML across multiple industries.
Under the agreement, RosettaNet will become a subsidiary of the UCC, although it will continue to operate as a separate entity with its more than 600 members in electronic components and information technology. UCC, which administers the Universal Product Code (UPC), has more than 260,000 members in 23 major industries.
