The first six students to participate in the AFCEA Educational Foundation-Future Heroes Experience Tours completed the inaugural program in August. This initiative, the result of a partnership between the AFCEA Educational Foundation and the Future Heroes Foundation, aims to provide leadership education and training to ROTC students.
This concept originated when Future Heroes Founder Kyle Fisher, assisted by Boston University/Massachusetts Institute of Technology Naval ROTC unit instructor Lt. Yulee Newsome, USN, asked the Educational Foundation to consider developing a joint venture with Future Heroes to offer ROTC cadets and midshipmen a program that would contribute to helping them become better officers when they were commissioned. The AFCEA Educational Foundation would develop and administer the program, and Future Heroes agreed to cover the expenses.
