A local medical software company that has flown under the radar will partner with highly visible Google Health.
SafeMed Inc. announced its involvement with the Google Inc. initiative March 4, a week after Google spoke about its latest venture into the business of online medical records at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society conference in Orlando, Fla.
The San Diego startup will integrate its analysisengine into the Google Health platform to help patients monitor drug dosage and identify negative interactions, according to Richard Noffsinger, chief executive officer of SafeMed.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Neither were company revenues, according to Noffsinger. SafeMed's analysis engine is not exclusive to Google Health, however.
