Since its acquisition by the Sage Group, plc in March 2004, ACCPAC Advantage Series has been renamed Sage Accpac ERP. In spite of ownership changes, this business management application remains largely unchanged - a solid product that offers a wide variety of deployment options. Sage Accpac 500 ERP (formerly ACCPAC Advantage Series 5-3 Enterprise Edition) features a unique, tiered, object-oriented design, with support for Windows and Linux, as well as four different database platforms (Pervasive SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, and Oracle), and the choice of client/server or Web-deployed application environments.
MODULES AVAILABLE/ SCALABILITY
Sage Accpac ERP is available in three editions: 100, 200 and 500. The former entry-level ACCPAC Advantage Series Discovery edition has been discontinued since our review a year ago. The product reviewed here is Sage Accpac 500 ERP, although all editions share many similarities, including the same architecture, code base and user interface. The primary differences between the editions are the number of users supported, and the modules that are included in the package. This edition supports an unlimited number of users while Sage Accpac 200 ERP supports up to 10 users, and Sage Accpac 100 ERP supports up to five users. This kind of scalability highlights the product's ability to serve the smallest business with an economical package, while providing a seamless growth path without the need to change software vendors or learn a new user interface.
Modules available in this edition include AR, AP, Payroll (U.S. and Canadian), GL, GL Consolidations, GL security, Inter-company Transactions, Inventory Control, Multicurrency, National Accounts Management, Transaction Analysis and Optional Field...
