Two roofing contractors from Saline who cooperated to help the Internal Revenue Service crack a major tax-fraud case involving credit cards and offshore bank accounts are now rebuilding their business.
Herbert Greaves, 65, and his son Kurt Greaves, 44, owners of Greaves Inc. in Ann Arbor, were sentenced Aug. 16 to two years of probation and 120 hours of community service as well as restitution of $30,000 for their role in the scheme. Both men pleaded guilty in April and received reduced sentences for their cooperation.
