Real estate agents will tell you that the three important things are "Location, location, location."
Boris Shafranov, owner of the Sandpiper Inn in Old Saybrook feels the same way about his business and its proximity to nearby attractions.
"We're 15 minutes from New London and the Coast Guard Academy," he said. "The casinos at Ledyard are 30 minutes away, Middletown and New Haven about 25."
That location, he thinks, makes the 45-room Sandpiper Inn at 1750 Boston Post Road, just off Route 95's Exit 66, a perfect spot, not only for tourists, but for a variety of corporate functions as well--and it's that corporate business he is hoping to increase.
"We do pretty well in the summer months--May to the end of October," he said. "But in winter all area business drops off a bit--and we're offering a number of features to increase our corporate business."
