Abstract

"Full-scale demonstration of electrified road sections can quickly become a reality through this partnership," said Henrik Henriksson, executive vice president of Scania's sales and marketing. "Fuel savings made possible by electrification are huge, and this project is a foundation stone for fossil-free road transport."

In a March 13 interview with Hart Energy, Scania spokesman Hans-Âke Danielsson explained that the research partners initially will undertake assembly and test work on a diesel-electric hybrid truck at Scania in Sweden. This work will include evaluating and installing the electrical connection systems, software development, mechanical testing and integration of the electrical powertrain and combustion-driven powertrain systems.
