Each year, Marine Corps and Navy organizations, plus various veterans groups, offer scholarships and financial assistance to Marine dependents who are high school graduates or in some cases college graduate students to help them continue their education. With the help of the NAVPERS Scholarship Pamphlet (NAVPERS 15003 Series) and other sources, the Marine Corps Association has compiled a list of scholarships available to interested Marine Corps dependents. Further scholarship and loan information may be obtained from the Scholarship Pamphlet, available by writing to: Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps, (Code TDE), Washington, D.C. 20380.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
Eligibility: Son or daughter of active duty Marine or son or daughter of a former Marine (retired, reserve, deceased or disabled, or son or daughter of former Marines who have served honorably for a minimum of 90 days with the Marine Corps). Maximum gross family income of $25,000.
For undergraduate education at accredited colleges, universities or post-high school technical institutions.
Amount: Scholarships range from $500 to $1,200 per year.
How to Apply: Write to: The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc., James Forrestal Campus, P.O. Box 3008, Princeton, N.J. 08540 after September 1,1983. Deadline for completed application is February 1, 1984.
First Marine Division Association, Inc.
Eligibility: Dependents of deceased from any cause or totally disabled due to wounds received in combat, of persons who served at any time in the First Marine Division.
Amount: Based on individual need, the amounts are fixed by the Association's Scholarship Trustees.
How To Apply: Including full name and service number of deceased or disabled, apply to the First Marine Division Association, Inc. 1704 Florida Ave., Woodbridge, Va. 22191.
Third Marine Division Association, Inc.
Eligibility: Dependent of military person who served in the Third Marine Division and who lost his life because of enemy action during such service,...
