Fuji-Xerox understands the pitfalls of notebook computers. Failure rates as high as 30% and inadequate service have provided a salutary lesson in the problems of equipping a mobile sales force.
Fuji-Xerox plans to dump one of Compaq Computer Corp.'s service providers because of the "shocking service" experienced during the repair of faulty Compaq Contura notebooks, the company said.
