Most stock brokerage firms shy away from people with less than $25,000 to $50,000 to invest, said Jeffrey T. Seely.
Not so with ShareBuilder Corp., an online brokerage firm, which offers a Web-based service that helps people without a lot of money invest in individual stocks, said Seely, chairman and CEO of the corporation.
ShareBuilder clients can dollarcost average into stocks, essentially buying as many or as few stocks as they want automatically each month.
The service was launched to the mass consumer market in 1999 - and it is taking off, Seely said.
