Austin's Silicon Laboratories Inc. is planning to expand its Southwest Austin headquarters by 40,000 square feet, real estate sources say.
The expansion would be a physical manifestation of the semiconductor design company's overall growth in recent years. The new space will be across the street from the company's operations at 7000 W. William Cannon Drive, according to real estate sources. The company also has a building on nearby Boston Lane. The company's Austin operations total about 250,000 square feet.
Silicon Labs spokeswoman Tiffany Plowman says the company hasn't committed to any expansion plans.
After 13 quarters of consecutive revenue growth, Silicon Labs (Nasdaq: SLAB) is on track to achieve $500 million in sales for 2004. That puts Silicon Labs halfway toward its ultimate goal of becoming a $1 billion company.
