With the increasing threat of subsidized competition from monopoly utilities, the National Alliance for Fair Competition (NAFC) has testified to members of Congress on how utility deregulation adversely impacts small business markets.
Representing 10 national small business trade associations that include more than 35,000 firms, the NAFC spoke in late July before the House Small Business Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform and Paperwork Reduction.
Utility deregulation has dramatically spurred the entry of utilities into markets traditionally served by small businesses, according to NAFC.
