In business since.1.922, Marlin Wist broke away irom an existing company and started their own business, Wist Office Products, in 1955. His son and daughter- in- law, Ileene Wist took over t lie business in 1965. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Wist Office Products has grown from a small dealership into one of the largest independent dealerships in Arizona, with 60 employees and nine trucks serving businesses directly as far away as Las Vegas. And via its e- commerce endeavors, Wist has expanded its reach across the entire United States.
Today, grandson, lan Wisl has taken over the job of running Wist, although his mother, Ileene, still maintains an office and acts as President of the company. Under his parent's tutelage, lan Wist has embraced the Internet and pursued alternative sources of income for Wist Office Products, turning Wist into a $15 million company whose revenues have consistently grown by at least three percent every year.
It is through these commitments and growth that Wist Office Producls has outgrown its exisling building and been able to complete the remodeling of a new 32, 500 square feel building in Tempe.
THE SUPPLY SIDE
Wist Office Products attributes 50 percent of its sales from traditional office products, casegoods, janitorial supplies, rubber stamps and presentation products. Another 30 percent is from the sales of toner/inkjet cartridges to which 80 percent are OEMs and the other 20 percent remanuiactured using NuKote and MSE products. The remaining 20 percent of sales are from the sales of of lice furniture including products from Global, HON and Marvel.
