BELGIAN National Railways (SNCB) has launched Move 2007, a plan covering 2003-07, designed to make SNCB "viable within the European context" with a positive cash-flow by 2007, and to enable it to recapture a central role in the mobility of the Belgian economy.
Move 2007 will now be negotiated with the new Belgian government, when it takes office, and the trades unions. SNCB says it will need to spend a minimum of euro5.8 billion to implement Move 2007 and to expand capacity.
