The9 – The9 Establishes JV to Focus on Mobile Game Operation and Distribution in China’s Sinking Market, JV Partner Committed Annual Profit of RMB80 Million & 50% Annual Growth – 21/02/25
The9 Limited (Nasdaq: NCTY) (“The9”), announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Shanghai The9 Information Technology Co., Ltd. signed a Joint Venture agreement with Chengdu Qing Cheng Network Science and Technology Co., Ltd., a leading mobile game operation and distribution company focusing on serving gamers in China’s sinking market. The9 will hold a 51% stake and Qing Cheng will hold a 49% stake in the Joint Venture. The Joint Venture will become The9's flagship subsidiary to operate and distribute mobile games in the China’s sinking market. Qing Cheng committed to The9 that the Joint Venture will have an annual profit of more than RMB80 million (approximately US$11 million) in 2025, with profit increasing by at least 50% annually in 2026 and 2027. Rockstar Games ® announced the acquisition of Video Games Deluxe, the Sydney-based development studio. The studio will be renamed Rockstar Australia. Video Games Deluxe has worked with Rockstar Games on some of its most memorable titles, including the 2017 re-releases of L.A. Noire , L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files , and most recently, on upgrades to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for iOS and Android, Netflix, and modern consoles. Pocketgamer – Tilting Point Launches $150m UA Fund to Support Game Developers – 11/03/25
Mobile games publisher Tilting Point has launched a $150 million user acquisition fund to help developers scale their apps and games. The fund is to offer teams financial support for growth without the constraints of traditional publishing. Supported developers will retain “full autonomy" over their marketing strategies, with Tilting Point only assisting in UA campaigns upon request.
