The developers of the Tall Grass mixed-use project have defaulted on more than $12 million in mortgage payments and face foreclosure on the 150 acre Tall Grass Golf Course in Shoreham, according to a lawsuit filed in Suffolk Supreme Court.
The owners of DeLalio Sod Farms had sold the course to Barnet Holdings and Ornstein Leyton in 2004 and were in contract to sell their adjacent 170-acre sod farm to the developers. The two parcels together, a total of 320 acres, were supposed to be the site of 352 units of housing and 125,000 square feet of commercial space.
But after the project failed to win Pine Barrens Commission approval, the DeLalios filed suit against the developers...
