WAKE FOREST - Sprint plans to amend its staff structure beginning Jan. 1, 2004, placing employees into one of two new customerfocused units, a move the company says will cut costs and lead to some job reductions.
The changes will represent a "transformation" of Sprint's 72,000-employee work force, Chief Executive Officer Gary Forsee said on Sept. 10, when he announced the company will be divided into two divisions - one focused on individual customers and the other on corporate customers.
