Weighing in at around 4 lbs., this device is packed full of features designed for field recording and production sound. The time code and word clock features of the 788T make it well-equipped for production sound.lt provides support for all common production frame rates and is capable of word clock in and out, with video sync support.
Inputs include a combination of eight mic/line analog inputs (four XLR and four TA3) and AES3 multi-pin connection digital inputs. Six analog and six digital outputs act independently to allow for separate output feeds.
In terms of file formats, the 788T produces 16- or 24-bit WAVs at sample rates that range from 32 to 96 kHz. Audio can be recorded as mono files or interleaved multi-channel poly files to be split during post-production. Despite its compact size, this device provides plenty of room for data storage. It ships with a 160 GB internal hard drive and capabilities for additional storage space through Compact Flash and External FireWire drives.
