Taipei, Taiwan - Spot-market prices of 16-Mbit DRAMs in Taiwan have fallen to their lowest levels of the year, an ominous sign for the island's fledgling - and now money-losing - memory makers.
Taiwan, considered by analysts and OEMs as the world's cheapest place to source memory, last week saw average selling prices of 16-Mbit DRAMs in the spot market drop to around $6, from $6.50 about a week ago.
