JACK VANDERBURG, PRESIDENT & CEO, FIRST NATIONAL BANK IN DALHART
Every morning like clockwork the regulars arrive in two shifts, 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., to the First National Bank in Dalhart for a cup of coffee, doughnuts and conversation. More like close friends than guests, many customers bypass the lobby, preferring to walk in the back door and drink from coffee mugs with their names on them. "We make everyone feel welcome," says Jack Vanderburg, president & CEO.
The First National Bank, Dalhart's only home-owned bank, has been making customers feel welcome since 1903, when it was founded. With six banks in a community of approximately 6,500, being locally owned and controlled is an advantage.

Vanderburg grew up in nearby Spearman, where his parents were farmers and ranchers. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA degree in personnel management and a minor in finance.
