In a neck-and-neck race for the top spot at the NorthAmerican box office, Dimension's 'PG'-rated Spy Kids beat back a strong challenge from Paramount's Along Came a Spider and held the No. I position for the second consecutive weekend. Kids sleuthed an estimated $17.1 million (dropping a moderate 36 percent from its debut weekend) while the Morgan Freeman starrer Spider spun into the second spot with a gross of $16.7 million. New Line's Blow starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz lined up in the third slot with an opening weekend of an estimated $12.4 million.
Columbia Pictures has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the "prompt and safe" recovery of four identical Spider-Man costumes stolen from the set of the film shooting on the Sony Pictures Studio lot in Culver City, Calif....
